The Los Roques kite school is offering courses with IKO certified instructors (International Kiteboarding Organization). These courses are divided into three parts:
Kite Discovery: is aimed at new students without any Kite experience. It consists of two sessions of two hours each. Usually a session is done in the morning, resting or a break is taken at noon for lunch and then the second session is done in the afternoon. In this course you learn everything related to Kite equipment, safety and handling of the kite, proper use of equipment, recognition of risk factors, location, basic flight principles, take off and land a kite alone, fly a kite under control, wind window, Body Drag, and self rescue.
Intermediate Kite Course: These are courses of approximately 2 hours in which there will be 15 to 30 minutes of theory and at least one and a half hours of practice in water. In this part of the course the student will start with the table. Learn to navigate both ways by controlling the speed and power of the comet. It will recognize the rights of way in the water. You will learn to gird and / or have the ability to navigate against the wind. You will be able to make several types of transitions without stopping.
Independent Kite Course: These are courses of approximately 2 hours in which there will be about 15 to 30 minutes of theory and at least one and a half hours of practice in water. In this part of the course the student must already be able to leave the beach alone and return to the same starting point at the end of his navigation. In this part of the course you will learn to navigate in Switch or "Toe Side" and you will learn the basic principles of making and landing a jump.
Kite Equipment Rental: The kite school offers equipment rental services (Kite, Table and Arnes).
